Sidratul Muntaha Kazi

Benefit & Eenergy Adviser

Sidratul M Kazi (Sid) – Benefits & Energy Adviser

I hold a First-Class Degree in Psychology with a strong research background developed during my time at Aston University. My academic training has equipped me with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, alongside a strong understanding of human behaviour, which I apply in frontline community support and development roles.

I began my journey at New Hope Global as a Volunteer, working closely with the Benefits and Energy Projects. This role gave me valuable insight into the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and families, particularly around fuel poverty, financial hardship, and access to welfare support. In May 2024, I progressed into the role of Energy/Benefits Advice Officer.

In my current position, I provide tailored 1:1 support through face-to-face appointments, group workshops, telephone consultations, and home visits. I am often the first point of contact for individuals experiencing household energy concerns, energy debt, or difficulties improving their property’s energy efficiency. I support clients in reducing energy costs, managing arrears, and accessing schemes that help make their homes warmer and more affordable to run.

Alongside energy advice, I provide guidance on benefit entitlements, general welfare issues, and budgeting support. My role includes assisting with housing and council tax matters, housing applications, light-touch casework, and referrals to grants, financial assistance schemes, and food banks. I am committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and confidence to improve their financial stability and overall wellbeing.
