Administration & Monitoring Officer
Anika is local resident born and raised in Lozells, Birmingham, she joined New Hope as an Administration Officer in May 2022 after successfully completing a 6 month placement as an Admin / Outreach Officer on the Kickstart programme in October 2021. Anika wasn’t sure which career path she wanted to pursue and Covid19 made it extremely difficult to decide due to not able to find suitable jobs. Kickstart provided her with valuable work experience and opportunities to learn practical skills. She commenced her placement by supporting administration team and shadowing the community development officers in order to get useful experience in both fields to help chose an area of work she enjoyed. A vacancy of Administration Officer was created which Anika applied for and offered the post to provide administration service to a busy and demanding team.

Anika is the first point of contact to professionals, service users, visitors and staff, her key duties include providing a welcoming professional reception service, answering queries, supporting with service delivery, responsible for marketing publishing leaflets, booking, inputting data, monitoring and evaluation data.

The placement with New Hope Global helped Anika gain valuable work experience in community development and administration. Anika enjoyed working as an administrator, the placement helped her gain confidence and learn many skills such as customer services, organisational, good communication and interpersonal skills. New Hope was offered a range of training courses to improve her skills, such as Customer services, safeguarding, first aid, monitoring and gave her the experience to obtain paid employment. Anika is a hardworking, caring, and friendly individual, who works effectively in a team member.
